A second floor addition and extensive alteration to a 1920's hillside Spanish Revival home with private outdoor courtyard and bands of windows to frame panoramic views of hillside Los Angeles. Careful attention to matching the existing windows details for new openings as well as restoring the 1927 fireplace mantel of "Mayan-style" tile by Malibu Potteries was expertly undertaken. The owner also requested modern touches throughout such as a more open floor plan, a light filled staircase to the new floor and an exterior roof deck retreat with copper hot tub and shaded pergola to enjoy the elevated perch.
