For this new two-story ranch style home, we took full advantage of a life with nature perched on this hillside site immersed with ancient coniferous trees. Features include a wood burning fireplace, extensive flagstone patios, water fountain, raised wood deck, outdoor pavilion and lawn. The second floor primary suite is a loft that is open to the first floor below. Bathing outside was desired so a shower wrapped in Ipe as well as a Hinoki soaking tub lies below the tree canopy at the balcony. Within the house, careful attention to ensure all muntin bars of the glass walls were horizontally aligned. A black walnut slab door by Quantum Windows marks the entrance to the home. Featured in Dwell as well as included in the Dwell On Design 2017 summer home tours.
